POLISHING YOUR PANDORA JEWELLERY
While sterling silver is highly durable and maintains a striking lustre, it is prone to tarnishing and dulling. Regular polishing with a silver polishing cloth will prevent a build-up or tarnish and preserve the silver’s beautiful high shine. The cloth can be used on all PANDORA jewellery.
The white polishing cloth is made from soft fabric with a flocked texture (velvour-like appearance).
The black polishing cloth is made from the same soft fabric but has been chemically treated with a non-scratch micro abrasive polishing and cleaning compound which is very effective in removing dirt and tarnish. Each polishing cloth contains approximately 0.03% sodium hydroxide (also known as caustic soda). Do not use with PANDORA Rose or plated products.
The combination of the texture and the gentle rubbing motion used when polishing the jewellery will remove dirt and light tarnish and transfer it to the cloth.
Avoid aggressive polishing on oxidised silver as it wears away the vintage finish and design details. Silver polishing liquids, silver dips or ultrasonic cleaning are not suitable for oxidised sterling silver. The oxidised effect may naturally diminish over time but can be restored by a goldsmith.

PROTECTING YOUR PANDORA JEWELLERY
Wet, humid and warm conditions as well as perspiration create jewellery corrosion, which is why it’s best to avoid wearing jewellery in the bath, sauna or whilst swimming or playing sports. Similary, make-up, creams, hairspray, perfume and household chemicals can speed up the tarnishing process.
The PANDORA clasp opener is the perfect tool for opening clasps on PANDORA charm bracelets or clips without damaging them or your nails. Hold the PANDORA clasp opener in your dominant hand and hold the clasp in your other hand. Place the heart-shaped clasp opener into the horizontal slit of the clasp or clip. Push down on the clasp with the opener. Use light but steady pressure. As you push down, the clasp will pop open.
A good rule of thumb is to let your jewellery be the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you remove in the evening.
Silver polishing liquids and silver dips are not recommended for jewellery cleaning as they can destroy the oxidised details that adorn many PANDORA jewellery pieces. Silver dip can similarly ruin necklaces and bracelets as even the smallest amount of residue inside locks and chains will eventually cause deterioration.

CLEANING & STORING YOUR JEWELLERY
Plated jewellery should be wiped gently with a clean cloth. Aggressive polishing, silver polishing liquids and ultrasonic cleaning damages plated jewellery. Plating will wear away over time but can be replated by a goldsmith.
Store jewellery in the tarnish-resistant pouch (black) included in the Care Kit to minimise scratches and prevent tarnishing.
Ultrasonic cleaning should be done carefully, using the right cleaning solution and temperature. It is ideal for most plain metal jewellery except oxidised sterling silver and plated jewellery. Follow the instructions for the pieces with stones. Do not use for wood, leather or glass.
Use the white pouch in the Care Kit for PANDORA Rose products. Avoid overloading the pouches.
One of the safest and easiest ways to clean most jewellery is with mild liquid soap and lukewarm water, using the soft brush included in this Care Kit. If the jewellery is very dirty, leave to soak for 10 minutes, rinse with clean water and pat dry with a soft, clean cloth.
Do not use home remedies such as toothpaste, baking soda or similar for jewellery cleaning purposes as it can cause lasting damage.
Avoid rough handling. Store jewellery separately to avoid scratches. Clean with warm soapy water and the soft brush (gentle brushing only). Ultrasonic cleaners should only be used with caution and never for freshwater cultured pearls or other fragile stones. Some stones have special care requirements; please check with your local PANDORA retailer.
PANDORA Rose is created from a unique blend of copper and sterling silver, plated with 14k rose gold to lend a luxurious touch of pink to your style.
Treat with special care. Do not expose to water, cleaning agents, silver polish and avoid contact with make-up, creams and chemicals. Clean with the soft brush (gentle brushing only) or the white polishing cloth.
Maintain shine by polishing with the white polishing cloth. Clean with the soft brush, lukewarm water and a mild soap. Rinse with clean water and pat dry with lint-free tissue paper or a soft cloth. If the dirt is hard to remove, soak in the soapy water for about 10 minutes.
Avoid silver polishing liquids, silver dips and ultrasonic cleaning. Do not expose to strong chemicals and remove prior to swimming or bathing. Avoid contact with make-up, creams, perfume and lotions.
Clean with warm soapy water and the soft brush, or simply use the white polishing cloth.
Be careful with abrasive surfaces as the plated surface can easily scratch. Store separately in the white pouch.
Freshwater Cultured Pearls
For daily care, simply wipe the glass with the white polishing cloth. Clean with lukewarm water and mild liquid soap, rinse and dry with a soft cloth. If the glass becomes ‘dry’ or dull, simply rub in a drop of mineral oil with a soft lint-free cloth and wipe gently with a clean cloth. Polishing cloths with chemicals must only be used on the metal. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners or sliver dip.
Jewellery with a silicone core (including all Essence charms) must not be exposed to silver polishing liquids, silver dips or thermal shock as it may soften the silicone parts and weaken their grip. To clean, use a combination of lukewarm soapy water and the soft brush, and rinse with clean water.
For daily cleaning, wipe with the white polishing cloth. Water or hash cleaners will strip away the natural oils, leaving it stiff and cracked. However, mild chemical-free cleaner, soap flakes or saddle soap work perfectly. Stains should be removed immediately to avoid permanent marks. Do not store near direct heat.
PANDORA fabric designs are made of synthetic and natural fibres, which may become damaged or discoloured if submerged in water.
