REVIEW: PANDORA Teardrop Charm
“Delicious tears! The heart’s own dew.”
This beautiful filigree charm combines old with new, as the on trend teardrop adopts a vintage style.
Occasionally there are some variants in each countries’ release of new PANDORA collections. The dainty PANDORA Teardrops (796460) charm was released as part of the PANDORA Autumn 2017 Collection in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand but not in North America. For me this charm is classic PANDORA, without any blingy cubic zirconia stones and a refreshing new design. At just £25 it is also very affordable and makes a wonderful addition to any collection.
The Teardrops charm has a charming filigree design comprising of solid, outlined and dotted teardrop shapes. The contrast of the smooth silver with the textured pattern is really beautiful and highlights how simple charms can often be the prettiest.
I thought the Teardrops charm was ideal for the Autumn collection, as the teardrop silhouettes look similar to falling leaves, drifting in the breeze.
The Teardrops charm has a sweet dotted circle at either side. This is the same design as previous PANDORA openwork charms such as the Flower (790890), Heart (790964) and Picking Daisies (790965) charms. All of them have lovely, pure designs which work in many themes and are very versatile.
The PANDORA hallmark, ‘S925 ALE’ is tucked away on the inside of the Teardrops charm underneath one of the solid teardrop shapes.
My initial thought regarding styling the Teardrops charm was a mixture of nature themed charms. I like to think of this first design as a country garden with butterflies fluttering around the flowers and the Teardrops charm is like glistening dewdrops on the lush grass. The Pink Butterfly Kisses Murano Charms (791621) look darling with the Fascinating Blush Crystals (791729nbp). The Lacewing Butterfly Clips (791256) and the Vintage Butterfly Pendant Charm (791255CZ) provide a twenties glamour feel. Both the Lacewing Butterfly Clips and the Butterly Kisses Murano charms are currently on sale in the PANDORA Rue La La sale.
The detail on the Teardrops charm makes it perfect for simple stylings. I love using the new PANDORA Open Bangle (596477) for mini designs and the Teardrops charm with the Dazzling Daisy Meadow (791492cz) and the Shimmering Stripe Murano charms (796248) looks splendid.
Above is a very similar styling, but the addition of two Fascinating Blush Crystals adds a touch of warmth and enchantment! The gorgeous Light as a Feather charm (791186cz) is also in the current PANDORA Rue La La sale.
Finally I created a gorgeous green design, which, as my regular readers will know, is my favourite colour. This Nature’s Wonder theme is full of woodland animals and here the Teardrops charm takes on a leafy feel. The fabulous Fascinating Olive Crystals (791729nlg) look amazing with the Forest Trinity Pendant Charm (791214pe) and the Wild Flower Murano charms (791638cz) keep up the green theme. Many of these charms are also in the current PANDORA Rue La La sale with great savings. You will find Mrs Hedgehog (791179), Birds & Branches (791213czn), Mystic Floral (791409cz), Majestic Swan (791732cz) and the Forest Trinity Pendant (791214pe) all in the Rue La La sale.
My verdict on the PANDORA Teardrops charm? It gives me tears of joy!
