It’s time for our weekly snoop into a PANDORA Collector’s jewellery box!
Collector’s Corner: Britta @pandora.bob
On Collector’s Corner this week we will be discovering more about the charming Britta and her wonderful PANDORA collection. Be sure to follow her gorgeous Instagram account @pandora.bob
Hello Britta! Thank you for taking the time to have a little chat about our favourite addiction! First can you tell us how long you’ve been collecting PANDORA?
My first bracelet along with a small elephant I bought in 2009 when I finished studying. Within the next 2 years I completed two bracelets. After that I had other interests, from time to time I bought a charm that was it. I got reinfected with PANDORA last year. Since then I bought a lot and my collections grows and grows.
I love it that you say you’ve been ‘reinfected’… You know you’ve been hit by the PANDORA bug when you start dreaming about it! What was it that made you fall in love with PANDORA?
I loved the idea that you can create you personal bracelet, that no one else in the world has. And the fact that you can choose charms that remind you of personal moments. At the beginning I especially loved the small figures and the colourful Muranos.

The little characters were one of the things that drew me to PANDORA too and I still really love my animal charms. Britta, could you tell us a little about your collection?
I have all kind of type of charms: from old to new. I started with silver charms and colourful Muranos. Then I added Two Tone Charms, Essence and this year PANDORA Rose charms. Since I love bright colours, I have many Muranos and Petite Facets. I also love dangles to make the bracelets more lively. A pure silver bracelet to me is boring. Additionally, I like to work with the bracelet itself, that means that I always try to combine a regular silver bracelet with leather bracelets, Mesh bracelet or bangles. I have more than 40 different bracelets. And, of course, I like to combine Moments with Essence. That also works great.

I had noticed your love for stacking bracelets! You really have an eye for creating eye catching bracelet stacks. Do you have any rare, or hard to find pieces included in your collection?
Not really, I have some pendants where I’m proud of. For example the dragonfly and the Butterfly. And the Vintage Allure Set – though I am still missing the earrings.
The Dragonfly Pendant is incredible isn’t it?! I have often thought about buying Butterfly too but although it is very pretty I think it is a little large for my personal taste. What is your favourite piece of PANDORA jewellery in your collection?
At the moment I love PANDORA Rose very much, especially the feather pendant and ring. I think PANDORA Rose works well with the new golden brown leather bracelet from the Festival Collection. I wore that quite often this summer, looks great with tanned skin.
You’re right they do look good paired together! Everything seems dreamier in Rose.
Now Britta, after following your Instagram I think I know the answer to this next question, but I’m going to ask it anyway… Do you make up bracelets one by one, or do you keep your charms and bracelets separate and make up bracelets for any occasion?
I have two bracelets that stay as they are. Those are my first two bracelets. The rest I change regularly. I love to create new combinations. Every evening I’m thinking about what to wear the next day. Mostly I create the bracelets according to my clothes. But more frequently it is the other way round.
I totally love that you matched your bracelet and trainers (or sneakers for our American readers) together! Britta, you have an incredible collection. Do you have many items that are still on your wish list?
At the moment I am fine. The last things that were on my wishlist were the PANDORA Rose Open Bangle and the PANDORA Rose Mesh Bracelet. I got them 2 weeks ago in the 3:2 event. That was really what was needed in my collection. Now I can get started with PANDORA Rose the way I would like to. Before I had only one PANDORA Rose Bracelet and since I love to wear several bracelets at the same time that was a problem. I do not like mixing Rose with silver much. Every time I tried it so far I didn’t like the result. But I will give it a try again in the future.

Oh! My heart almost stopped! I don’t think I have ever heard of a PANDORA addict, ahem I mean Collector with an empty wish list before. I have things that I would love which I haven’t even added to my wish list because I don’t want to make it scary long!
Okay… well, there is one thing, that I definitely want to have in the future: that is the green Wandas Garden necklace with pendant and the ring. That is something I must have.
Phew, now I feel better!
So Britta, now that my heart is beating normally once more, can you tell us your thoughts on the year so far in PANDORA world?
I actually loved the Festival Collection, especially the new Leather Bracelets, the Indian and turquoise stuff. The only thing I regret is the fact that PANDORA is not using real stones anymore. I would be much nicer if it was real onyx or real turquoise.
What I don’t like are these childish charms like Bruno, Bella Bot, Cosmo Tommy etc… that is not my taste. I prefer the older figures like the dinosaur, my 5 Hedgehogs or my little Viking. PANDORA Shine was also not my cup of tea. To me it looks artificial. And the Signature Collection I find too straight laced.
[Dora starts frantically hiding her shiny new Bruno charm and tells Bella and Rose Bot to be quiet!]
Yeah some of the new charms are very childish. I completely agree with you about real gem stones. With so many PANDORA fans wanting them back again, hopefully PANDORA HQ will hear our pleas. What would you like to see from PANDORA in future collections?
I wished there were more colourful charms and that they will bring some great colourful charms in different colours. e.g. the new Regal Beauty Charm: I wished they would produce it in a dark green or black. I hope they produce more playful designs like the new Regal Beauty Theme too.
If you collect PANDORA Disney, which character would you like to see in the future?
I have only one Disney Bracelet and all 10 Disney Muranos. Disney is very cute, but somehow I guess I am too old for it because many of the characters I even do not know (e.g. Piglet, Eeyore, Jiminy Cricket). Why should I buy a charm when I do not know the character?

Oh Britta you need to know Piglet and Eeyore! Especially Eeyore. He is such a grumpy bum but soo lovable. I am a fan of the Winnie-the-Pooh stories more than the animations. I promise if you read Winnie-the-Pooh you will fall in love with all of the 100 Acre Wood friends.
OK, I’m off my Disney Soapbox now… What did you think of the Autumn 2018 collection, did you get any pieces?
Yes, I did. The Highlight for me were the PANDORA Rose Open Bangle and the PANDORA Rose Mesh bracelet. I also love the new Murano charms, so far I got three of each. The Black Radiant Hearts also is great. And the Key and Locks Theme and the playful Regal Hearts Theme are brilliant. What regret a little bit is the fact, that many of the new charms do not fit with the style of the old charms. It looks strange when you try to combine them.
