Collector’s Corner: Katie @baroquepandorafan
On Collector’s Corner this week we’ll be chatting to the lovely Katie, who like me is both PANDORA and Disney mad! Be sure to follow Katie’s amazing Instagram account @baroquepandorafan for super cute PANDORA photos!
Hi Katie, thank you for visiting us this evening. Anyone who follows your gorgeous Instagram account can see you are a huge PANDORA fan, but can you tell us how long have you been collecting PANDORA?
I have been collecting PANDORA for almost eleven years. I got my first PANDORA charms when my nephew was born. It was a gift from my sister-in-law, and my mom.
Ahh, that charm must be very special to you. What was it that made you fall in love with PANDORA?
I love PANDORA, because I love the ability to create “my own” jewellery designs. I love the craftsmanship of PANDORA jewellery, and the ability for charms to represent special moments in my life.
I think many of can relate to that idea. Could you tell us a little bit about your PANDORA collection?
Originally, I just had a PANDORA bracelet with a mix of charms, but as I started to collect more, I divided my bracelets into themes. I have a fairytale, Disney, Beauty and the Beast, travel, rose, floral tea party, star, Christmas, and heart bracelet.
Wow! That is a wonderful collection! So do you have any rare, or hard to find PANDORA items amongst those pieces?
Lately, I have been trying to pick up some rare pieces. I recently got the Pretzel charm. I was so excited! I also bought the Ugly Duckling charm. And, I just received the Princess and the Pea charm today!
Well done! The Princess & The Pea charm is beautiful and is quite tricky to locate! Do you have a favourite piece of PANDORA jewellery?
That is a tough one. I love all PANDORA jewelry. I love the bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces! I recently got the PANDORA floating locket ring, which I have been thoroughly enjoying.
The Floating Locket Ring is a cool concept. I’ve been not so patiently waiting for the Floating Locket Bangle to be released since Spring!
I think I know the answer already but do you make up bracelets one by one, or do you keep your charms and
bracelets separate and make up bracelets for any occasion?
I have themed bracelets, but I have a lot of additional charms that I play around with. I also take apart my themed bracelets, when I have the time, and make new designs for special occasions.
That makes sense. Creating reviews helps me to take pause and reflect on what different themed bracelets to make but I do understand that it can be a little time consuming. So Katie, do you have an interesting PANDORA promotional items in your collection?
I have all of the regular PANDORA ornaments going back to 2008, including The Rockettes charm and ornament. I have several PANDORA jewelry boxes and cases, including a jewellery box, which was how they originally sold PANDORA when it was sold primarily in boutique stores.
The PANDORA Rockettes 2018 Charm and Ornament is pretty too with its shimmering pearlescent enamel.
Can you share with us what is on currently your wish list?
So many things!!! I’m planning an Enchanted Forest bracelet next, so I will need Bambi and Thumper.
That sounds like a splendid idea! I also love to use my Bambi and Thumper charms along with the Winnie-the-Pooh charms for 100 acre wood stylings. What do you think of the direction PANDORA is taking in 2018?
I am excited about having more releases throughout the year. I think some of the new charm ideas are neat ideas, but I’m always more excited about the traditional well-designed sterling silver charms.
So what would you like to see from PANDORA in the future?
I would like to see some more Disney character charms. I love Minnie and Mickey, but I think PANDORA has overdone them a bit, and has not branched out to the many other characters and ideas in Disney. I would also like to see some leave inspired charms.
I do love the Mickey and Minnie charms, but it is true there are so many awesome Disney characters out there! As a big Disney fan, which character would you like to see PANDORA produce in the future?
I would very much like a Pascal and Cogsworth charm!
I recently bought the PANDORA Disney Figaro charm and now I’m thinking a Marie from Aristocats charm would be really cute. How did you feel about the PANDORA Autumn 2018 collection, did you get any pieces?
I was really excited about the addition of new fairytale themed charms! I bought the Pumpkin, Wish Upon the Star charm, and Bruno the Unicorn.
Katie, thank you so much for allowing us to peep into your amazing PANDORA collection! I can’t wait to see photos of your ‘Enchanted Forest’ Bracelet on your account @baroquepandorafan in the future!
