This week on Collector’s Corner we travelling down under to have a peek at Jane’s incredible PANDORA Collection which can be seen on her charming Instagram account @chiv64
Hello Jane! Thank you for joining us on Collector’s Corner. First, can you tell us how long have you been collecting PANDORA?
l have only been collecting PANDORA since early 2015, it rapidly became a addition to collect charms.
Wow! I see what you mean by ‘addition’, your collection is amazing! What made you first fall in love with PANDORA?
Being able to collect charms which had a meaning to the individual and being able to actually play with your jewellery by making new designs.
It is fun to play with PANDORA. I guess we never really grow up, we still like playing with our pretty beads! Can you tell us about your collection?
My collection is very Disney (Mickey) and colour themed bracelets. Lately I have been searching more of the older early style PANDORA, it’s all the fun of searching for those elusive charms which adds meaning and a lot of fun to collecting and building that bracelet.
I know what you mean. I am searching for the retired Seeing Spots Murano charms and the hunt is all part of the fun. Do you have any rare, or hard to find pieces?
I’m not sure what is considered rare, but I believe I have a few older style charms with the precious stones which are becoming harder to find. For example; gold ruby heart, TT Diamonds, Gold & Diamonds, Canadian Winter Olympic charm and my precious 14ct Gold Rhodolite & Diamond Ring.
That is very precious! What is your favourite piece of PANDORA jewellery?
My favourite would have to be my PANDORA 14ct Gold Bracelets.
They are spectacular! I’m sure a lot of the readers are drooling now! Something I am always interested to ask other collectors is, do you make up bracelets one by one, or do you keep your charms and bracelets separate and make up bracelets for any occasion?
I do both, I have many completed bracelets which stay as they are, but I seem to have accumulated many single charms that I’m unsure of what to do with. I do make bracelets up for occasions but I then usually keep them that way.
That is interesting. I rarely have a bracelet made up for more than a week. Can you tell us what is on your wishlist?
My wish list… now let me think on this as I have a bit! I would say the gold 25th Anniversary Charm but it very expensive. Some of the new PANDORA Disney Park Mickey Charms.
Oooh yes, there are some cute Mickey anniversary charms coming soon! A few of the PANDORA Disney Park charms are on my wish list too, including the cute World of Disney charm. What do you think of the direction PANDORA is taking in 2018?
I was very concerned with the direction early this year but the last two drops have been ok. It seems they are directing at a younger audience which I totally understand. I purchased a couple of PANDORA Shine pieces but I personally believe the Shine range is a waste of money long term.
I know quite a few PANDORA Collector’s are concerned about how the plating will fare on the PANDORA Shine charms. What would you like to see from PANDORA in the future?
I have totally gone off buying anything with cubic zirconia so would like to see more silver & silver/enamel & maybe some precious stone would be good.
I would love it if PANDORA began using real gemstones again, especially for the 14ct gold pieces. Jane, as a big PANDORA Disney fan, which character would you like PANDORA to produce in the future
Pluto the dog as he is Mickey’s best friend ?
You really are mad for Mickey! Thank you so much Jane in allowing us to peek into your fantastic collection, we have thoroughly enjoyed it.
