It is with great sadness that the family of Dora announces her passing after a brief illness, on June 30th 2022, at the age of 41.
Dora, as many in the Pandora community know her, started collecting Pandora Jewellery in 2012 after her husband gifted her a starter bracelet and she chose a few additional charms for herself including a Monkey charm because of her love of that animal.
In 2014 Dora set up an instagram page and started documenting her love for Pandora by taking photos and learning more about photography as she grew her Pandora collection.
A few years later Dora’s husband had noticed that the world of Pandora was never ending, with sales, promotions, new collections and gifts with purchases. He encouraged Dora to set up a website theartofpandora.com. It was said that a blog can take two years to find it’s readership but the Pandora community found the site very quickly and started to enjoy Dora’s reviews and previews as well as other news.
As many of you have guessed, and as some of you know, Dora is not the real name of the blogger whose photos and reviews Pandora lovers loved so much. For reasons of safety, security, anonymity and the ability to not leave a large personal footprint on the internet Dora chose to keep her online identity secure.
Of course, some fans of Pandora Jewellery met up with Dora at various locations on her travels and sometimes on video conferencing to collaborate and Dora always shared her real name with these friends. However, the family of Dora wish for privacy at this time as they mourn the death of someone who was so much more than a Pandora collector and blogger.
We do not wish to share details of Dora’s passing at this time and again we ask that the Pandora community respect those wishes.
In memory of Dora and because of her love for Pandora we would like to keep thartofpandora.com running. What form this will take in unclear as at the moment the family need to take time to grieve but we hope to be able to share some form of news, reviews and previews again in the future – perhaps with the help of some contributors.
Dora’s gift for design and photography will be missed by many. Over the course of 10 years that she collected Pandora she became very knowledgable about Pandora charms and other jewellery items, this too will be missed as she helped so many people.
