“For bees, the flower is the fountain of life. For flowers, the bee is the messenger of love.”
Carry a message of love wherever you go, with this sweet bee companion.
Everyone seems to have a fondness of bees. Maybe it is because of their good work ethic or ability to live in harmony in their hive. Or it could just be that we are grateful for the sweet honey they produce! Whatever the reason, the humble little bee has become quite the icon for Pandora. Much of the Pandora Spring 2020 Collection features a busy little bee. My personal favourite is the fun Pandora Bee Mine (798789C01) charm.
Dora Explores: Pandora Bee Mine Charm
The Pandora Bee Mine (798789C01) charm is quite chunky and built from a goodly amount of silver. As typical of bees, this little chap is busy on a mission. Having finished his honey quota for the day he is on a journey to share love and carries a heart engraved with the words ‘Bee Mine’!
Two bands of glossy black enamel alternate with two lines of beaded silver to form the bees striped body.
Viewed from above the Bee Mine charm closely resembles the Sparkling Queen Bee Pendant (398840C01), also from the Pandora Spring 2020 Collection. However its wings feature a cut out lace pattern instead of being set with cubic zirconia stones.
Altogether the Pandora Bee Mine charm is rather a fun design. From the bees friendly eyes and happy face to his little cone shaped bottom! It is a charm that just makes me smile.
It took me a little while to locate the hallmark on the Pandora Bee Mine charm. To find it, look inside the charm and the normal Pandora silver hallmark ‘S925 ALE’ is just about visible!
Style 1: Bees & Sunbeams
“The lovely flowers embarrass me,
They make me regret I am not a bee.”
Emily Dickinson
“Keeping of bees is like the direction of sunbeams.”
Henry David Thoreau
“When the bee comes to your house,
let her have a beer; you may want to visit the bee’s house someday.”
Congo Proverb
My first design with the Pandora Bee Mine charm mimics the bees stripy body and is set on the Pandora Moments Three-Link Bangle (568757C00).
The two metals of the Pandora Moments Three-Link Bangle beautifully compliment a combination of 18k plated Pandora Shine, silver and 14k gold charms. Central on the bracelet is the cute Bee Mine charm, flying between the Pandora Shine Golden Honey (767120EN158) and the Honeybee (767023EN16) charms. The Pansy Spacers (790861CZK) create black stripes nestled next to the gorgeous 14k gold Lucerne Clips (750818).
Style 2: The Voice of Spring
“Let us linger a while in the wonderful old Lilac walk. It is a glory of tender green and shaded amethyst and the grateful hum of bees, the very voice of Spring.”
Alice Morse Earle
“One can no more approach people without love than one can approach bees without care. Such is the quality of bees…”
Leo Tolstoy
“Bees work for man, and yet they never bruise
Their Master’s flower, but leave it having done
As fair as ever and as fit to use
So both the flower doth stay and honey run.”
George Herbert
I was surprised at how many bee themed charms exist in my Pandora collection and I incorporated them into a delightful two tone design set on the 14k Gold Clasp Moments Bracelet (590702HG).
The Bee Mine charm hovers between the Tree of Life (790429) and the delicate Evening Floral (791373) charms, with the majestic Queen Bee Pendant (368650C01) at his side. Buzzing sounds emit from the two tone Beehive (790577) while the happy little Queen Bee (790227) works opposite. The 14k Gold Heart (750809D) and Star (750808D) pendants provide symmetry to the bracelet design. While the Lazy Daisy Clips (791014) create a warm springlike feel.
My verdict on the Pandora Bee Mine Charm? It’s the bee’s knees!
