REVIEW: Pandora Blooming Watering Can Charm

“I tend the flowers of my mind.
Watering our memories as they bloom.”

Sprinkle a little sweetness onto your bracelet with the delightful Blooming Watering Can Charm.

Growing up surrounded by woods and forests has deeply instilled in me a love of animals and nature. Thus the Pandora Spring 2019 Collection, filled with butterflies and flowers was perfect for me. One of my favourites from the collection is the charming Pandora Blooming Watering Can Charm (797873ENMX).

Dora Explores: Pandora Blooming Watering Can Charm

In keeping with the Spring Collection butterfly theme, a mustard yellow butterfly rests on the spout of the Pandora Blooming Watering Can Charm (797873ENMX). Notice too the trademark Pandora heart hidden on the spout.

There are so many little details on the Blooming Watering Can Charm including a little ladybird crawling up the side. The pretty bug is very similar to the design of the Ladybird Petite (797050EN159) charm and features a minuscule love heart between her wings. It is hard to see her in the stock images so she was a wonderful surprise when I received the charm.

Creeping silver flower grows around the handle of the Blooming Watering Can Charm creating a feeling of stumbling upon a secret garden, paused in time.

Every angle of the Blooming Watering Can Charm reveals beautiful details accentuated with subtle oxidisation.

Surprisingly the Blooming Watering Can Charm has a smooth core, although it is still a relatively heavy silver charm. The normal Pandora hallmark ‘S925 ALE’ is stamped one side of the charm.

The new style of Pandora logo complete with the crown over the letter ‘O’ is engraved on the other side of the Blooming Watering Can Charm.

A small disc hangs beneath the Blooming Watering Can Charm engraved with the inspiration to ‘Bloom and Grow’. When I first saw the stock image of the charm I had doubts about the little dangle but once on a bracelet it provides an interesting detail.

Beautiful blooms burst from the top of the Watering Can Charm including a four leaf clover at the centre and two pink enamel blossom either side. A single clear cubic zirconia stone adds a little sparkle to the middle of one flower.

Style 1: Mulan’s Garden

My first design with the Blooming Watering Can Charm is set on the Pandora Rose Heart Clasp Bracelet (580719) and is inspired from the Disney classic Mulan.

The sweet Magnolia Bloom(792087PCZ) charm makes an pretty centre point surrounded by the Pandora Rose Open Your Heart(780964) and Darling Daisy Meadow (780004EN12) charms. Positioned beside the Magnolia Bloom Clips(792078PCZ) are the gorgeous new Pandora Rose Peach Blossom Spacers (788111ENMX). Their combination of pale pink and bright fuchsia enamel energises the design.

Unfortunately the Pandora Rose Peach Blossom Spacers are a China exclusive, however you can read about how to purchase them in my Peach Blossom Collection post.

Style 2: Mossy Meadow

“Lying on a soft bed of moss viewing the cobalt blue sky painted with thick impastoed layers of clouds framed sumptuously with swaying trees and dancing leaves is the best way to view nature’s museum.”

Khang Kijarro Nguyen

There, rising no more than an inch above the surface of the boulder, she saw a great and tiny forest. Nothing moved within this mossy world. She peered at it so closely that she could smell it- dank and rich and old.”

They have the patina of almost two centuries of English sunshine and rain and are patterned with mosses in a wide range of emerald, apple and viridian greens. Any one of them, tastefully framed and hung in a London art gallery, would get rave notices from the critics.”

Garnished with a tiny yellow butterfly the Blooming Watering Can Charm looks delightful set on the classic Pandora Moments Bracelet (590702HV) on my moss green bracelet design.

The retired Vintage Allure (791173SSG) charm is a sparkling showpiece at the centre of the bracelet with the Happy Little Bird (790424) and Blooming Watering Can charms on either side. Warm drops of gold are sprinkled though the bracelet on the two tone Lazy Daisy Clips (791014), Bird & Branches (791213CZN), Evening Floral (791373) and He Loves Me (790541D) charms. While the Fascinating Olive Crystals (791729NLG) and Wildflower Murano (791638CZ) charms reflect grassy green shades. Woodland trees are represented with the Pandora Muirapiranga Wood (790703) beads which I am also looking forward to styling in the upcoming Pandora Summer 2019 Collection!

Style 3: English Country Garden

The soul cannot thrive in the absence of a garden. If you don’t want paradise, you are not human; and if you are not human, you don’t have a soul.”

My final design with the Blooming Watering Can is an English affair set on the silver Pandora Moments Bracelet (590702HV).

Mimicking a country garden, this bracelet includes all the essentials; a Watering Can, Spring Bird House (797045) and of course the Enchanted Tea Pot (797065CZ) along with a Tea Cup (790361). Dragonflies hover between the flowers on the Promise of Spring (797046) and Dragonfly Meadow (791733CZ) charms. Pink Fluttering Butterflies (791483EN68) play amongst the Cherry Blossom (790947), Field of Daisies (791623) and Pink Field of Flowers (791665) Murano charms. Other blooms include the pretty Darling Daisies Spacers (791495EN12) and matching Darling Daisy Meadow Clips (791494EN12).

My verdict on the Pandora Blooming Watering Can Charm? Blooming marvellous!

Summary

The Blooming Watering Can has a fantastic design that is quite versatile although not really suitable for a necklace styling. It is a good value charm that is fairly large and decorated with both a cubic zirconia and enamel. Full of detail it has lots of wow factor and makes an impact on a bracelet design.

In the USA the Pandora Blooming Watering Can (797873ENMX) is $55 and available from our preferred Pandora retailer BeCharming.com.

In the UK the Pandora Blooming Watering Can (797873ENMX) is £45 and is available from the UK Pandora eStore.

Hello there
The watering can charm is really beautiful. It has so many intricate designs that i love. There were so many things which i hadn’t noticed until now. I love the little four leaf clover on the top. The soft colors of the flowers on the side are really lovely. The lady bug definitely didn’t catch my eye (until now of course).
Love the way you have designed it with the garden themed bracelets.
Thank you

Hi Dora, Thank you for your detailed review and beautiful photography.I really enjoy your designs and carefully chosen quotes so the following is not in anyway a reflection on your blog. I just wanted to voice my concerns about Pandora’s current direction. Is anyone else disappointed that Pandora don’t seem to be making threaded charms anymore? I bought two of the blue butterfly wing charms and they are very light and insubstantial, with no threading. If I hadn’t purchased them from an authorised retailer I would have thought they were fakes! I am a relatively new collector, only been collecting… Read more »

Hi Kat, I am also a relatively new collector. I do not understand why you prefer threaded beads? I’ve had to return 2 because the threading wasn’t right and then I couldn’t get it on my bracelet. I use clips to keep everything in place so they do not slid off. I am personally fine with either or I just want to see if there is something I am missing. On Earth Day I received an email from Pandora and thru the link it sent me to pandoragroup.com and if you click on Planet and then Materials it explains their… Read more »

Hi Heather, I think you are correct. Clips in the right position and maybe threaded charms on the ends will help keep your bracelet balanced and safe. Threading can cause complications and I don’t think it is necessary on all charms. I think you raise an important point about Environmental Policy. For the benefit of other readers this is an except from that policy. We will continuously work to minimise the environmental footprint of our own operations by seeking new ways to reduce our consumption of resources, our emissions and our waste. Further, we wish to influence and inspire our… Read more »

I do agree Kat, I was given my first bracelet in 2010 but now collect mostly older and retired Pandora, especially with 14ct and gemstones, with only occasional purchases from recent collections. I actually dont comment on new collections so much now as I do still love my Pandora and hate to be negative, and I think Dora’s designs and photos are really lovely. I like the threaded charms as they are more substantial and the original design of the Pandora bracelet was innovative because of the clips and threading, but some charms are nice without, it depends on the… Read more »

Hi Debbie, Thanks for your comment and your contribution to this interesting discussion. I have already made some comments on threaded charms so I don’t want to repeat myself. However, like you, I have been collecting PANDORA since for a number of years (2012 in my case). To a certain extent I have noticed from the beginning that people often don’t like new collections as a whole and often yearn for the older charms that are no longer available. This is why I pick out pieces that I like from any collection and add it to my own. Having said… Read more »

Hi Kat, Thank you for you kind words on the photography and designs. I certainly don’t take any criticism of PANDORA as a brand or any of their charms personally. I appreciate all comment positive or negative. I am not sure how much PANDORA reads through the reviews and comments, but it is certainly worth airing your grievances and maybe someone is listening. Regarding threaded charms I like to have them on either end of my designs since I don’t usually wear a safety chain. This provides a bit of security when putting the bracelet on or off – or… Read more »

I did think about this charm for my multi-coloured bracelet but decided against it because it only has the pink and the yellow and is missing the blue and the green of the round what-ever-it’s-called charm that I just got in the 3 for 2 . The little spacers only have pink and blue butterflies and I would have preferred them to have had all 4 colours , they should come tomorrow so hopefully I’ll like them on my bracelet anyway . The watering can looks lovely with all of the flower Muranos, I can’t decide which bracelet I like… Read more »

Hi Pat,

Thanks for the comment, I didn’t really think of it as an issue as far as my whole Spring collection goes. I appreciate what you are saying about there being four colour enamels in the Spring 2019 Collection and this one having just two; but on the whole I think they complement each other while fitting into the broader Moments collection.

Have a great day

It’s probably my OCD, lol . The tiny little butterfly spacers are so cute and fill up my bracelet perfectly, although I still think they would have been nicer with all 4 colours, or another one in the other 2 colours to bring it all together . I have the pink pave open heart clip and it’s always bugged me that the pink pave heart off the bangle isn’t quite the same shade of pink . They were both on my multi-coloured bracelet but the slip on one has gone back on the bangle now with all the charms I’ve… Read more »

Lovely designs, the Mossy Meadow is my favorite, green being my favorite color! Whenever you design with green it just grabs my attention. Thank you for including the names and numbers of all the charms particularly the retired charms. I’ve only been collecting since spring 2017 and there are so many charms I missed that I want. The fascinating olive Muranos (I never knew what they were called until now!) are top of it along with edelweiss.

Wonderful photos!

Hi Heather, Thank you so much for your kind comment. The photography is the basis of what I am trying to do with this website, as alluded to in the name of the site, so I appreciate your comment. When my husband reads through my reviews he complains about all the code numbers because, he says that it makes it difficult to read. But it is for Collectors such as yourself that I do it. Also I get a bunch of emails asking about this or that if I don’t. Green is my favourite colour. I collected mostly green Muranos… Read more »
