REVIEW: PANDORA Disney Tinker Bell’s Dress
“So come with me, where dreams are born, and time is never planned. Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings, forever, in Never Never Land!”
Add a sprinkling of pixie dust to your bracelet with the brilliant emerald Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm.
The PANDORA Disney Spring 2017 Collection has been my favourite PANDORA collection so far this year. It was also the first time I really liked a Disney Princess Dress charm. When I first saw the stock images of the PANDORA Disney Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm (No. 792138EN93) I loved the intricate design of the wings as well as the pretty glitter dress. Previously I have been put off the dress charms as I think they can look a little odd without a body, but the Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm looks just right.
All you need is faith, trust and a little pixie dust.
The colour of the Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm is very accurate to the colour in the stock image. It is a very pretty emerald green and has little flecks of glitter mixed into the enamel. The overall combination is perfect for Tink and you can imagine her fluttering around surrounded with pixie dust.
The green of the Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm is similar to the green cubic zirconia on the Tinker Bell Star Charm (No. 791920NPG) and is exactly the same as the new Tinker Bell’s Shoe Charm (No. 792139EN93). The Tinker Bell Signature Colour Murano Charm (No. 791639) is more of a fresh apple green. The Tinker Bell Murano Charms are still patiently sitting on my wishlist and I look forward to adding them to my collection. I think both shades of green would look beautiful together, especially as the green enamel on the Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm seems to change colour as it moves in the light.
I was attracted to the Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm mainly because of the beautiful wing design. The shape and pattern are synonymous with Tinker Bell and are quite iconic.
Like other PANDORA Disney Dress charms, the Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm is quite a flat design. Personally I prefer dangle charms to be relatively flat as it means if you choose to wear it as a necklace pendant it sits nicely.
The bale of the Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm is quite wide and is threaded. As the other PANDORA Disney Dress charms, the Princess name is engraved in swirly writing on the top of the bale. I love this little detail and wish they would do it on more of the dangle charms. The Disney hallmark is on one side of the bale and the usual PANDORA hallmarks are on the other side.
The second star to the right, shines in the night for you, to tell you that the dreams you have, really can come true.
For my first design I created a little pixie dust storm with Tinker Bell at the centre. I used the Galaxy (No. 791388cz), Heart of Winter (No. 791996cz), Disney Frozen Snowflake (No. 791563CZ) charms and the Crystallised Snowflake Clips (No. 791997nmb) to add a feeling of pixie magic. The butterflies and flowers put Tinker Bell in her typical botanical environment whilst the Green Petite Facet (No. 791499sgq) and the Ocean Mosaic Pavé (No. 791261mczmx) highlight her pretty dress.
Think of the happiest things. It's the same as having wings.
My second design is a Pink and Green Disney theme. I love pink and green together as it looks so fresh and natural. I created symmetry in the design using the Piglet Dangle Charm (No. 792134en117) opposite the Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm with the 2017 Club Charm (No. B800538) at the centre. I love this combination of colours and charms, it is like carrying all your favourite characters with you, keeping you smiling throughout the day.
The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.
Next I created a mini bracelet on a PANDORA Bangle. I love using a Bangle for when I don’t want a full bracelet. I is also a great way to add focus on your favourite charms. Once again I used the Galaxy charm either side of the Tinker Bell’s Dress Charm to suggest Tink flurrying around in a wind full of sparkly pixie dust. The Lacewing Butterfly Clips (No. 791256) accentuate the lovely wings on the back of Tinker Bell’s Dress. The PANDORA Disney Jasmine’s Signature Murano Charms (No. 791648) look amazing with the green enamel on Tinker Bell’s Dress. The enamel reflects the colours and seems to shimmer from emerald green to teal and turquoise colours.
Fairies have to be one thing or the other, because being so small they unfortunately have room for one feeling only at a time.
I used the Green Double Leather Bracelet (No. 590705clg-d) for a lighter look. Green is my favourite colour and this design plays around with lots of different shades of green. Despite being a small design the contrasting textures of leather, enamel, glass and cubic zirconia make the bracelet fun and interesting. The Green Captivating Murano (No. 790636) and Green Ribbon Murano (No. 790615) are both retired but can be found in PANDORA sales occasionally.
You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? That's where I will always love you. That's where I will be waiting.
Finally I created a little necklace fit for a pixie using the Galaxy and Disney Frozen Snowflake charms with the Green Ribbon Murano to add a splash of colour.
My verdict on the Tinker Bell's Dress Charm? It's a dream come true!
