MELT YOUR HEART
PANDORA has revived the heart charm design with the Heart of Winter Charm and it’s cool new style.
The PANDORA Heart of Winter / Frosted Heart Charm (N0. 791996CZ) is a refreshing new take on the classic heart charm. Despite a vast choice of heart charms from PANDORA, I had never been compelled to add one to my collection. The PANDORA Heart of Winter Charm changed that with it’s wonderful wintery design and melted my heart!
I thought the PANDORA Heart of Winter Charm was very striking when I first previewed the PANDORA 2016 Winter Collection and when I saw it in real life I was completely enchanted! One of the first things I noticed about the PANDORA Heart of Winter Charm was that it is an openwork charm. This means it is not threaded and simply slips onto your PANDORA bracelet. As an openwork charm more light can pass behind the charm producing extra sparkles. However, be careful when removing your PANDORA bracelet that the charm doesn’t fall off.
The PANDORA Heart of Winter Charm is described as being set with clear cubic zirconia stones. Yet in certain light the stones seem to be a very subtle icy blue colour. I am not sure if it is a trick of the eye or a mistake on the PANDORA description but the effect is certainly very beautiful.
Compared to other heart charms the PANDORA Heart of Winter Charm has quite a flat design. This was one of the aspects which attracted me to the charm and it creates an interesting juxtaposition alongside other charms on a bracelet. I also discovered that the Heart of Winter Charm is what is known in the PANDORA world as a ‘flipper’! This means it doesn’t stay upright on a bracelet but flips around. For me it doesn’t detract from the beauty of the charm but it does mean I won’t be able to wear it alone on a necklace. If you had three Heart of Winter Charms you could create a pretty tessellating effect with them worn with a pendant and threaded vertically through the necklace.
For a simple understated styling I decided to wear the PANDORA Heart of Winter Charm as a focal point between two Galaxy charms (No. 791388CZ) on a PANDORA bangle. I love the look of the openwork charms on the smooth finish of the bangle. This bracelet styling is a quick and easy way to add elegance to any outfit and is perfect for a party!
When I first saw the PANDORA Heart of Winter Charm I thought about how well it would complement the PANDORA Disney Frozen Snowflake openwork charm (No. 791563CZ). Both charms have a similar design with icy points fracturing from the centre point. I think the Heart of Winter Charm and the Disney Frozen Snowflake are striking either side of the new Night Sky Murano (No. 791662CZ). The Disney Frozen Snowflake Pendant charm (No. 791564CZ) would also look fantastic in the centre of the two charms. In this styling the cubic zirconia stones in the Heart of Winter Charm definitely seem to be a pale icy blue colour.
I created a wintery night theme in my final styling of the PANDORA Heart of Winter Charm. I love how the sparkles of the Heart of Winter Charm accentuate the glimmering Fascinating Aventurescent Muranos (No. 791628). The Heart of Winter Charm looks stunning with the new PANDORA Crystallised Snowflake Clip (N0. 791997NMB) also from the PANDORA 2016 Winter Collection.
The PANDORA Heart of Winter Charm would also look gorgeous worn alone on the Light Blue Double Leather Bracelet (No. 590734CBL-D1) for a simple, light look.
