REVIEW: PANDORA Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm
“When it rains look for rainbows, when it’s dark look for stars.”
Make dreams come true with a rainbow coloured charm that is as sweet as candy floss!
The PANDORA 2018 Summer Collection was bursting with bright colours, and pretty rainbows feature in many of the charms, such as the Multi-Colour Pavé Open My Heart Clip (797221NRPMX), Multi-Colour Love (797189NRPMX) and the Multi-Colour Radiant Hearts (791725CZMX) charms. My personal highlights from the Summer 2018 Collection are the fun Ferris Wheel (797199NLCMX) and the shimmery Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm (797183MPR) which I will review in this post.
For some reason I have always been drawn to mosaics. I think it may have started when as a child I watched the 80’s classic family film, Batteries Not Included. My favourite scene is when the little flying saucers fix the mosaic tiles on the hallway floor of the dilapidated building. The PANDORA Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm isn’t the first mosaic style charm that PANDORA have produced. Previous mosaic charms include the delicate PANDORA Essence Generosity (796079MMW), Balance (796080MMB) and Compassion (796078MMP) charms from the Autumn 2016 Collection. More recently, the stunning Celestial Mosaic (796400MMB) charm was released as part of the Winter 2017 Collection.
Dora Explores: PANDORA Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm
The PANDORA Mutli-Colour Mosaic Charms‘ overall appearance is quite dainty. Partly due to its small size but also because of the rows of tiny mother of pearl tiles. Surprisingly the charm is fairly heavy and its acrylic overlay provides a strong protective coating. The normal PANDORA hallmarks are engraved on one side of the charm.
Despite having a relatively simple design, the Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm is incredibly dazzling as each one of the mosaic pieces creates a luminous facet. As an natural material the mother of pearl squares display various patterns and grains. The mother of pearl flakes are organised into coloured lines of purple, pink, yellow, green and blue. The charms silver core nearest to the blue tiles is free from any hallmarks.
Although the colourful tiles are teeny their slender edge creates an interesting depth to the Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm and it is a fine example of PANDORA’s craftsmanship. The standard ‘S925’ and ‘ALE’ hallmarks are engraved on the same side of the charm as the ‘PANDORA’ stamp.
As a threaded charm, the Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm feels quite weighty and solid for its size. Threaded charms are a great way to provide additional security to your bracelet. When a threaded charm is at the end of your bracelet design it ensures all of the charms don’t slip off when you unlock it. Of course it won’t be of any extra benefit on a smooth bracelet!
Style 1: Sugar & Spice
'Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.' - Maya Angelou
'Sunset is still my favourite colour, and rainbow is second.' - Mattie Stepanek
My first styling with the Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm is inspired by the English nursery rhyme ‘What Are Little Girls Made of?’. Using the PANDORA Signature Pavé Clasp Bracelet (590723CZ) for a dash of extra sparkle, I built a design filled with gadgets and gizmos that little girls love. I have to admit that this design is terribly stereotypical, but as it also oh so beautiful I beg you to indulge me!
At the centre of this delicious design sits the Limited Edition PANDORA Club 2017 Charm (792092D) with the Multi-Colour Mosaic and Pink Petite Facets (791499PCZ) charms either side. The Enchanted Tea Pot (797065CZ) and retired two tone Cupcake (790417) charms represent the tea parties we used to play as children and the Limited Edition Pudsey Bear 2017 (796255ENMX) charm resembles our favourite teddy! For all the little girls that wanted to be a princess when they grew up, the Cinderella’s Pumpkin Coach (791573CZ) and glittering Disney Princess Crown (791580CZ) charms add a drop of magical fancy.
Oh and in case you were wondering, little boys are made of “frogs and snails, and puppy-dogs’ tails” but little girls are made of “sugar and spice, and all that’s nice”!
'Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray.' - Lord Byron
Style 2: Rainbow Trail
'The sighting of a rainbow never fails to bring a smile to people's face. They signify optimism and positivity: with them comes the sunshine after the rain.' - Matthew Williamson
'Walk on a rainbow trail; walk on a trail of song, and all about you will be beauty.' - Robert Motherwell
I’m still rather addicted to the PANDORA Disney Princess Signature Colour Murano charms and I just had to compose this colourful bracelet! The shining PANDORA Mesh Bracelet (596543) is perfect for this style and its contemporary finish provides a hint of ‘grown up’ to this fun bracelet. I alternated Anna’s (791645), Aurora’s (791658), Belle’s (791643), Ariel’s (791641), Elsa’s (791644) and Cinderella’s Signature Colour Murano (791640) charms with various pretty silver beads. Of course the lustrous, iridescent Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm is the perfect centre piece!
'I was afraid I'd forgotten all the colours of the rainbow, but I know just where I can find them again.' -Megan Shepherd.
Style 3: End of The Rainbow
'Before we had airplanes and astronauts, we really thought that there was an actual place beyond the clouds, somewhere over the rainbow. There was an actual place, and we could go above the clouds and find it there.' - Barbara Walters
Somewhere over the rainbow, Bluebirds fly, And the dreams that you dream of, Dreams really do come true.
We have all heard the legendary story that a glorious pot of gold sits at the end of the rainbow waiting to be discovered. However quite a different pot lies at the end of the rainbow in my final styling with the radiant Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm! Instead of a pot of golden coins there is a pot of sweet Golden Honey (767120EN158) with the PANDORA Shine Queen Bee (367075EN16) guarding it protectively! I’m in love with the combination of the glistening golden enamel dripping over the honeycomb alongside the glowing colour spectrum of the Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm. Both charms are a similar size and this tasty trio present a lively look on the Golden Tan Sliding Leather Bracelet (597225CGT).
'I believe in the idea of the rainbow. And I've spent my entire life trying to get over it.' - Judy Garland

My verdict on the PANDORA Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm? A dream come true!
PANDORA Multi-Colour Mosaic Charm
This is a really beautiful charm with a delightful design which is quite versatile and suits many bracelets. It could add a charming dash of colour to a necklace design too. I have given it 9/10 for wow factor and value as it is quite small, although the price is fairly reasonable due to use of mother of pearl on the charm.
