REVIEW: Pandora Pink Flower Murano Charm

“The earth laughs in flowers.”

Pretty pink petals burst from shimmering rose coloured glass to create an everlasting bouquet.

Pandora Pink Flower Murano (797901) Spring 2019

The recent Pandora Spring 2019 collection introduced an exciting new Murano charm. Dainty blooms raise from the Pandora Pink Flower Murano (797901), creating the most interesting glass charm this year.

The Pandora Pink Flower Murano (797901) is the first Pandora glass charm in a long time that features a raised design. Previously Pandora produced the Seeing Spots Murano charms in a choice of vibrant colours. Each Seeing Spot Murano is decorated with contrasting coloured spots of glass. Affectionately known as ‘spotties’, the Seeing Spots Murano charms are now retired and a favourite of longtime Pandora collectors.

Five flowers adorn the new Pink Flower Murano (797901) charm and each is comprised of five rounded petals. Each Murano is unique as the charm is hand finished and thus may vary slightly. Happily little flowers on my Murano are consistent in size and shape.

The Pandora Pink Flower Murano is made from a very pale pink glass and the petals are in a darker hue. Viewed at different angles the charm appears either ‘candy floss’ or ‘bubblegum’ pink! Iridescent glitter sparkles within the glass creating a further dimension.

The standard Pandora hallmark ‘S925 ALE’ is engraved on one side of the threaded Pink Flower Murano charm.

Style 1: Anne’s Cherry Tree

“I wouldn’t be a bit afraid, and it would be lovely to sleep in a wild cherry-tree all white with bloom in the moonshine, don’t you think?”

L. M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

“I named that cherry-tree outside my bedroom window this morning. I called it Snow Queen because it was so white. Of course, it won’t always be in blossom, but one can imagine that it is, can’t one?”

Dropping her precious carpetbag she sprang forward a step and clasped her hands… But if you call me Anne please call me Anne spelled with an E.

My first styling with the Pandora Pink Flower Murano (797901) charm is inspired by my favourite book Anne of Green Gables. Anne’s vivid imagination is fed with the beauty of Prince Edward Island. The beautiful boughs of the cherry tree Anne dreams of sleeping in are illustrated with the Cherry Blossom (790947), Pink Field of Flowers (791665) and Field of Daisies (791623) Murano charms. Fairy tales and castles in the sky are symbolised by the two tone Castle & Crown (791133PCZ) charm. While the more down to earth carpet bag in Anne’s hands is depicted with the intricate Mary Poppin’s Bag (797506) charm.

Both the Darling Daisy Meadow Clips (791494EN12) and matching Darling Daisies Spacers (791495EN12) portray the ‘White Way of Delight’ Matthew and Anne drive through on the way to Green Gables. Finally, the Tree of Love Dangle (796592CZSMX) pictures the cherry tree outside Anne’s room which she names the Snow Queen.

Style 2: Smell the Roses

“It was June, and the world smelled of roses. The sunshine was like powdered gold over the grassy hillside.”

Maud Hart Lovelace, Betsy-Tacy and Tib

“Love is like the wild rose-briar; Friendship like the holly-tree. The holly is dark when the rose-briar blooms, but which will bloom most constantly?”

Emily Brontë

“Won’t you come into the garden? I would like my roses to see you.”

Richard B. Sheridan

Set on the luscious Pandora Rose Smooth Bracelet (580728) the Pink Flower Murano charm takes on a completely different style. Its bright pink glass beautifully compliments the Peach Blossom Spacers (788111ENMX). While the Pandora Rose Pink Shimmer Murano (781650) is similar enough to create a symmetrical look with the stunning Pandora Rose Family Roots Pendant (781988CZ) in the centre.

Style 3: Tropical Blooms

Just as I wonder
whether it’s going to die,
the orchid blossoms
and I can’t explain why it
moves my heart, why such pleasure
comes from one small bud
on a long spindly stem, one
blood red gold flower
opening at mid-summer,
tiny, perfect in its hour.”

Lord Illingworth told me this morning that there was an orchid there as beautiful as the seven deadly sins.

One wants to move through life with elegance and grace, blossoming infrequently but with exquisite taste, and perfect timing, like a rare bloom, a zebra orchid…

Set on the 14k Gold Clasp Bracelet (590702HG), my final design with the Pink Flower Murano charm resembles a tropical hothouse. Once again the Pink Flower Murano appears to change colour as it is paired with the deep purple Shoreline Sea Glass (791608) and Anna’s Signature Colour Murano (791645) charm. The fuchsia Orchid Pendant (791554EN69) creates a bright centrepiece while the 14k Gold Heart Pendant (750809D) and Pandora Shine Queen Bee (367075EN16) add symmetry to the design. An infusion of 14k gold and two tone charms, including my recent Rue La La purchase, the stunning 14k gold Lucerne Clips (750818), provide a hot summery feel.

My verdict on the Pandora Pink Flower Murano? Blooming lovely!

Summary

I was very impressed with the versatility of the Pandora Pink Flower Glass Murano and have given it a well deserved 10/10. It’s particular shade of pink appears to change depending on what it is paired with and it seemingly varies from a soft pastel to a bright cerise. It drops a few marks on the wow factor and design but this doesn’t matter too much as I generally use Murano charms to add colour to a bracelet. Overall it is a lovely Murano which will suit lots of stylings.

In the US the Pandora Pink Flower Glass Murano Charm (797901) is $50 USD and is available from our preferred Pandora retailer BeCharming.com.

In the UK the Pandora Pink Flower Glass Murano Charm (797901) is £35 and is available from the UK Pandora eStore.

Oh Dora, this is so delightful, the designs are exquisite. I love Anne of Green Gables too, I love the bracelet design you have done for Anne’s Cherry Tree. I will have to have another think about this Murano and where I can fit it into my collection.

Thanks for the lovely review

I love pink so I’m drawn to this charm but I don’t really need another pink bracelet roll . My first ever Pandora bracelet was the double pink leather and I swore I would not have any more pink after that hmm . Now I have 2 different shades of pink leather bracelets, a pink string bracelet and a pink silver bracelet with the flowers on the clasp eek .

Hi Pat, I collect a bit differently to you. As you know I don’t keep bracelets made up, so I tend to look for colours that group together well. I just picked up some blue and green coloured charms from the sale to make up a Little Mermaid bracelet and I go the little mermaid shell charm as well. Blues were definitely under represented so I am happy to get 50% + 20% off those charms that I consider supporting cast members (my husband calls them squad players). I am not sure which is more dangerous; making bracelets up or… Read more »

I did intend to do that when I first started collecting as I thought that was Pandora’s intention, but then they kept wanting to give me free bracelets so I kept them made up. Now I think I’m so used to doing it that way that I’d end up having to take photos so that I could put them back every time I changed them, lol . There is an end point (kind of) when you keep them made up as eventually they will all be full and you won’t want more bracelets that are the same as you already… Read more »

Hi Pat,

I am happy you can see an end point wink For me, at the moment it seems ever ending. I was so excited about Summer but the collection seems to mostly have passed me by without me been able to get more than the Sparkling Money. Disney is a big distraction, I have to admit.

It will be interesting to see if free bracelets remain something that is on the rotation of promotions.

Have a great day

Thank you Pat and Dora for this discussion. I have been debating about do I take a bracelet apart? Keep it as is? How would I remember what I made? I still don’t have an answer but it is nice to know I am not the only one who has these thoughts! Maybe I will just take a picture and borrow the beads for other designs… Dora, if England wasn’t playing the US I would have rooted for you. I do enjoy when they scan the crowd and show David Beckham! I needed my ladies to win so they have… Read more »

Hi Heather, If I get a chance I would like to write a blog post about the whole keeping bracelets made up vs keeping charms separate. It is obviously a personal choice, but it does seem that a few people are caught in two minds. People often message me on Instagram to ask how many bracelets I have — it must seem like I have so many with about 20 Tinker Bells. Regarding the football/soccer, I haven’t really been following it but my husband is a big fan of any soccer and has been watching most of the women’s games… Read more »

Needing those 20 Tinker Bells is a MAJOR problem with keeping bracelets made up . I got my 2 multi-coloured mosaic charms in the 3 for 2 earlier in the year for my multi-coloured Moments bracelet but when I got the multi-coloured sparkly adjustable thingy bracelet in the sale and I liked the look of that rose one with a charm on it so much, I simply had to get another one of those mosaics to go on that bracelet as it looked so perfect and I can’t bring myself to borrow . I have now got 2 bracelet ideas… Read more »

I do have fun changing them around sometimes when new charms don’t quite fit where I’d intended and I have to have a rethink, or if I want a certain charm and it doesn’t fit unless I have a change around. For example, I originally bought the robin for my red bracelet but moved it to my Christmas bracelet years ago but last week I put it back on my red bracelet as I bought the Christmas Mickey Mouse charm in the sale and I wanted to pair up the robin with another charm. Two other charms had to come… Read more »
