VACATION, VACAY, DOWNTIME, BREAK,
TIME OFF, TRIP, R&R, PLAYTIME, LONG WEEKEND, HOLIDAY,
HOLS OR HOLIBOBS.

WHATEVER WORD YOU USE AND WHEREVER YOU GO,
TRAVEL THE WORLD WITH PANDORA.

Once you’ve landed, unpacked the suitcases and loaded the washing machine, reality sets in and your vacation feels like a million years ago. Little mementos from your trip can extend the relaxed holiday feeling, but knick knacks get broken, tea towels are left in the drawer and does anyone ever wear that ‘all I got was this lousy t-shirt’?

Fortunately PANDORA have created the perfect souvenir with a selection of lovely, meaningful charms.

One's destination is never a place, but always a new way of seeing things. ✈ Henry Miller

The journey not the arrival matters. ✈ T.S. Elliot

Once the tickets are booked, it’s time to write the packing list! Over the last few years PANDORA have produced a number of holiday essential charms which are fun for a travel theme bracelet. My personal favourite is the PANDORA Sentimental Snapshots charm which is full of details including a SD card slot, screen and view finder.

Whether you are headed to the beach or a sunny European city, sunglasses are a vacation necessity. The retired Sunshine Diva pendant design has been modernised with the emoji style PANDORA Stay Cool charm. Other holiday essentials for me, include my trusted Birkenstocks plus a novel or two. The cute Flip Flop pendant would be a fun addition to your holiday bracelet, along with the PANDORA Love Reading pendant. Open its pages to reveal the little rhyme, ‘Ignore the things you have to do, and just enjoy a book or two’!

Fundamentals to travel are a suitcase, plane and of course your passport! Recall countries you’ve explored with the sweet PANDORA Passport pendant. The PANDORA Suitcase charm decorated with various destinations, is ideal for the seasoned traveller and the Aeroplane charm is a wonderful accompaniment.

Avoid the clichéd tourist gifts and elect for an engraved charm for the perfect present. As many of the PANDORA engraved charms are exclusive to the relevant country or state, they make a unique reminder of your travels.

I dislike feeling at home when I'm abroad. ✈ George Bernard Shaw

Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves. ✈ Henry David Thoreau

From New York to Miami, Maryland to Texas, PANDORA has created engraved pendant charms to represent your visit. The Statue of Liberty Dangle features the iconic monument while the Miami Beach Dangle depicts the idyllic vacation spot. If you holiday in Maryland between April to December the PANDORA Maryland Crab Dangle will keep crab season fresh in your memories. Y’all can remember those big hearted friends you made in the Lone Star state with a PANDORA Texas Flag Heart charm.

In addition to dangle charms, PANDORA have engraved specific Murano charms for a special souvenir. I adore the PANDORA Florida Sun Murano charm to represent The Sunshine State and the New York City Murano is cute symbol for the Big Apple! Recall the world-famous Boston lobster you enjoyed with the lively Boston Lobster Murano charm and if you relaxed with a dip into bright blue ocean off Jersey the PANDORA Jersey Shore Murano is a magical memento!

If you have used your vacation time to help others or taken a gap year for charity work, the PANDORA We Rise by Lifting Others and Be the Change charms are a lovely reminder of the valuable achievements you have made.

A wonderful aspect of travel is discovering notable buildings and monuments. As you explore cultural cities, history escapes the classroom, takes its first breath and comes alive!

Don't tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you travelled. ✈ Mohamed

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in you sail. Explore. Dream. Discover. ✈ Mark Twain

New York, London, Paris and Rome… What do they all have in common? As well as being home to the worlds top fashion houses, they all are beautifully depicted in detailed PANDORA charms! Remember the trip of a lifetime to Australia with the realistic PANDORA Sydney Opera House charm or enjoying the marvellous British weather with the iconic Big Ben Pendant charm.

When I visited Rome I enjoyed reenacting a favourite film of mine, the Audrey Hepburn classic Roman Holiday. I fondly remember eating delicious ice cream besides the Trevi Fountain, holding my breath as I placed my hand inside the Mouth of Truth and driving around the colossal Colosseum. This huge landmark is made perfect in miniature with the PANDORA Colosseum Pendant.

A trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete without climbing the steps to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Cherish your time spent in The City of Love with the special two tone version of the PANDORA Eiffel Tower Pendant with a dainty 14ct gold heart.

Once the tan has faded and the suitcases have been packed away for another year, the experiences from your vacation live on.

I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train. ✈ Oscar Wilde

We wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfilment. ✈ Hilaire Belloc

For many an essential ingredient to any vacation is an exciting escapade! My favourite holiday adventures include swimming with sea turtles in Malaysia, walking with elephants in Ghana and enjoying the view from a hot air balloon over the River Nile. With a whole assortment to choose from, there is a PANDORA charm for almost every experience!

The retired Safari charm depicts a lion, elephant, wildebeest, cheetah and rhino, the perfect memento of an African savannah. An alternative is the adorable PANDORA Lucky Elephant charm with its trunk held high. The delightful PANDORA All Aboard Cruise charm complete with a tiny swimming pool is a fitting souvenir for your cruise vacation.

The colourful PANDORA Ferris Wheel is a charming reminder of thrilling days out at amusement parks, or if shreddin’ the gnar is you thing, the PANDORA Snowboarder pendant is a perfect way to reminisce about riding the terrain.

Those who prefer a slightly calmer holiday, listening to an opera or watching a ballet, can recall the graceful performance with the pirouetting PANDORA Ballerina pendant or an amazing productions with the sparkling Sweet Music charm.

beach-trip-txt

A gentle sing song of laughing children, the massaging feeling of sand between the toes and calming lullaby of the tide rolling in and out. PANDORA’s tropical selection of charms will keep you chilled long after your beach hair’s detangled!

The world is a book and those who do not travel only read one page. ✈ St Augustine

One doesn't discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time. ✈ Andre Gide

Switch off the phone, open a good book, allow the sea air to blow off the cobwebs and just chill… until it is time to step back into reality! These cheerful charms from PANDORA will ensure sunny memories from your beach trip stay bright. Display Florida vibes with the quirky PANDORA Tropical Flamingo and the retro hues of the Paradise Sunset charm.

The vivid turquoise and teal enamel from the PANDORA Tropical Parrot and Tropical Seahorse pendant charms will add a fun flavour to your travel bracelet. Get fruity with the retired Sparkling Pineapple or the Palm Trees & Coconuts charms. The 14ct gold coconuts are a stunning detail! A more recent option is the dazzling PANDORA Sparkling Palm Tree pendant.

Make a splash with the glittering Tropical Starfish & Sea Shell pendant and the Ocean Life charm. Tiny blue stones that adorn its side illustrate little bubbles rising to the surface. The sweet Playful Dolphin Pendant would be a fantastic reminder of swimming with dolphins, something that is still on my bucket list. The gorgeous, glimmering PANDORA Sea Turtle charm is a brilliant representation of the magnificent sea creatures.

Create an conceptual travel themed bracelet full cultural icons and symbols to illustrate your worldwide wanderings in a fascinating story.

Not all those who wander are lost. ✈ J.R.R. Tolkein

I travel a lot; I hate having my life disrupted my routine. ✈ Caskie Stinnett

Tourists observe but true travellers explore and delve into each countries individual culture. Breath in the fresh scents, taste the unusual cuisine, attempt those tricky dances and don’t worry about being baffled by confusing languages!

Amongst PANDORA’s vast catalogue of charms are countless beauties ready to act as a fitting symbol for your travels. Amazing Asian themed charms include the splendid PANDORA Origami Crane pendant, the eye-catching Lion Dance and Sweet Panda charms. The PANDORA Chinese Doll, Japanese Doll and Korean Doll Pendant charms are wonderful mementoes with stunning traditional dresses.

Depict your trip down under with the sweet PANDORA Kangaroo & Baby and cute Koala charms. Or opt for a subtle Australia feel with the pretty Southern Cross & Kangaroo charm.

Food and drink is a big aspect of travel and the PANDORA Drink to Go and yummy Pretzel charms are ideal for your American vacation. Synonymous with Italy are the tasty PANDORA Love Pasta and Passion for Pizza pendants. Although us English folk try to claim tea as our own, black tea actually originates from India and the PANDORA Enchanted Tea Pot would make a delectable depiction of your time there.

For my Italian holiday I decided on a trio of charms to represent the incredible cities I visited. The PANDORA Coffee Lovers pendant reminds me of the armoatic Espresso coffee I drank in Milan and the cool PANDORA Vespa Scooter pendant brings back to mind the iconic scooter which was constantly visible in Florence. The glittering PANDORA Gondola pendant is a beautiful keepsake to remember a romantic Gondola ride in Venice with my darling husband!

Finally, for those who travel wherever their heart leads them the PANDORA Compass Rose will ensure they are never lost.

My best travel memories are visiting USA on our honeymoon. The first stop was new york city! We arrived at 11pm….what a time to arrive! It was like a dream and being in a movie. We couldn’t believe our eyes and had to pinch ourselves. I will never forget it.

Dora

My husband and my two best friends (who were celebrating their 20th wedjng anniversary in February 2018, took a short cruise trip from California. They renewed their wedding vows on the ship. After the cruise ended, we spent two days at Disneyland before flying home to North Carolina. It was a great trip with lots of great memories and special moments. Disneyland was awesome! I want to live there!

We don’t get out of the country much especially with two small children so we are making the most of the travel we can do. Recently we went to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. It is the largest cave system in the World; it was neat to experience. It is also a national park. We hope to visit more national parks in the future as they are very special and beautiful!

Dora

Hi Sarah,
Family trips to national parks are wonderful experiences. I have lovely memories of outings with my family when I was younger. I would love to travel to some of the national parks in the US and Canada one day.

My sister and I just recently returned from a trip to France. I actually bought the MInnie Eiffel Tower charm in the US people to planning our trip and I was a little disappointed my Minnie charm wouldn’t actually be purchased in France. But Minnie came with me to Paris and I was even able to take a photo of her standing next to the Eiffel Tower. We went on to have a memorable trip through France with 21 cities visited in 15 days!

Dora

Hi Mireya,
Who says a souvenir can’t be purchased beforehand?! I will let you into a little secret… all three of my Italian souvenir charms were purchased before I travelled to Italy! I kept them in their PANDORA pouch and presented them to myself at each city! I’m glad you had the opportunity to create the Minnie & Eiffel Tower next to the Eiffel Tower photo too! I would love it see it.

My husband & I decided to stay a couple extra days in London after our Transatlantic Cruise. Always a dream of mine to see London. We had a bus tour scheduled to see the main sites but found it was cancelled upon arrival due to prep for the Tour de France. They could tell we were bummed & let us book a tour at a similar price. We chose to tour Windsor Castle, Roman Baths & Stonehenge. I was scared as it was unplanned but as I rounded the corner approaching Windsor Castle there was a Pandora store & my… Read more »

My best travel memory is from last year! I travelled so much and to many different countries! First, I backpacked with two friends and my sister around Europe. We spent a week in Italy and visited Rome, Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre, and Venice. It was amazing! It was a great experience, and I bought a camera to take pictures and video of our adventures! We took soooo many pictures! We had to delete some because we filled up the SD card. After that we went to Paris for 3 days, then 2 days in London and lastly 2 in Madrid!… Read more »

I’ve been on many trips but one of my favorite places to go is close to home on the water. It’s a park that where many boats launch for fishing and my dad used to fish there a lot before he passed away. There is a beach and a pier and a hotdog stand but I just love to go and sit with a good book and watch the water. It is very calming and the view is so beautiful.

Dora

Hi Susan,
Your favourite place sounds perfect! I love to just stop and relax on holiday too. Finding a comfy spot with a good book, eating snacks and wearing shades so I can people watch undetected!

My most memorable moment on vacation was at Disney. You know how everything is perfect and grand at Disney…not this trip! It was mid May and extremely HOT!! My husband has zero patience. He was getting tired of people just stopping in the middle of the walk way. Well, people stopped…in front of us I’m the walk through of Cinderella’s castle. He raised his voice a little but being in the castle made his voice even louder. Yep! I was totally embarrassed the rest of the trip. I told my husband “stop it! This is the happiest place on earth!!”

One of my favorite trips was to Glacier National Park. My ancestors actually settled the area years before it became a National Park. It is one of the most beautiful locations that I have ever traveled to, and we got to stay in the original cabins that my family had made. Later, we stopped by the Park Rangers’s office, and my mom (who does genealogy) spoke with them for hours. They were so excited by the info and pictures that she was able to provide them about the area before it was a National Park. It was a fun trip,… Read more »

One of the most memorable vacations we took was to see the Niagara Falls. I have seen pictures and seen it on tv countless times but seeing it in person was just mind blowing. Also, the under the falls caves were just awe inspiring. The beauty and the sheer magnitude of the falls took my breath away.

Dora

Hi Pandorably_charmed,
Visiting the Niagara Falls sounds incredible, hopefully I will have the opportunity one day. I have heard that it is really loud. Watching something so powerful is very moving and makes you think of how small we are in the grand scheme of things.

For me, the beach does not disappoint! We got to try out several on our honeymoon to Kauai. Polihale was the most epic because it was nearly empty and the waves were calmer than other places. The other beach that was super special was Poipu…we got to watch a baby monk seal!! It was stunning to see the mother nurture her baby!

Great blog. One of my fondest memories which makes me laugh was when I went to france in a motorhome. We travelled around for 2 weeks and when we eventually reached Paris, I was adamant I wanted the Eiffel tower charm to represent this holiday. My most memorable vacation memory was a few years ago. My family and I took a cruise to Alaska and had the worst luck. I love to travel and experience new things, meet new people, and enjoy natural beauty. Buying charms to commemorate special memories from trips is what first drew me to collecting Pandora charms. One of my funniest trip memories was when our family went to St. Thomas. We booked a sailboat trip so we could snorkel. The water was a gorgeous blue. The weather was perfect. Sailing was a first for our family. I was so excited! Then seasickness hit and I was relegated to the back of the boat because I was so ill. I got the Pandora “Sail Away”… Read more »

Hi Michelle, Sorry were so sick on your vacation! I haven’t ever had a problem with motion sickness but when my husband and I took a diving lesson, I had to give up as I couldn’t get my ears to pop as we were getting deeper in the sea. In the end we went snorkelling instead with a diving instructor and his fellow instructors were laughing at him for taking us snorkelling and called him ‘Snorkel master’ instead of ‘dive master’! It was an amazing experience though and we snorkelled right alongside sea turtles! Thank you for sharing your travel… Read more »

Hi Dora, great post! I always get so mesmerized by Pandora’s travel charms but I have yet to travel to a destination where I could find country-specific charms 🙁 One day! The travel story I want to share is when I went to Mexico with my boyfriend. It was supposed to be a romantic getaway, but I got horrible food poisoning the second day and fell sick through our entire trip. When we went on our excursions, I had to excuse myself every 15 minutes and dash to the nearest restroom. The tour group probably thought I was so weird!… Read more »

Hi Vy,
Oh dear, so sorry to hear about your food poisoning experience! I’m glad your boyfriend looked after you though, and you were still able to have a good time. I hope the food is better on your next vacation too!
Thank you for sharing your experience,
Dora 💗

What a great article Dora. I love the joy and excitement I felt while I was reading it and reminiscing all the travel charms I acquired on my vacations. Pandora is responsible for bringing so many wonderful travel moments in my life. I will always have it with me wherever I go. I would love to share our road trip from New Hampshire going down to Washington DC. The main goal for our trip is about my parents in law who came to visit us from the Philippines for the very first time. It was there dream to see the… Read more »

Hi Reyah,
Thank you for your sweet comment! I’m so pleased you enjoyed the article. It’s fun to read everyone’s different experiences too.
Your trips with your parents sound lovely and it must be like seeing something for the first time when you are with them and seeing it through their eyes. Your gift for your mum is so sweet!
Thank you for sharing with us,

I enjoyed this article. It made me realize that I have actually travelled quite a bit. I am not big on taking vacations, but my parents were into motorcycle racing, and I still travel for dog shows. I recently purchased “apple of my eye” charm, to remember Westminster Kennel Club & New York. I have lived near Disneyland and Disney World, been to both parks many times. I have great things to do, not far away. I say that my Pandora bracelts have no special meaning… but every charm is a “favorite” for some reason. Most reasons are very personal,… Read more »

Hi Colleen,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the article. It’s nice to read each other’s experiences too. It feels like we’re a little PANDORA family!
I understand what you mean about not necessarily having a special meaning for your charms. Some of my charms I just liked for their design and others have a meaning to me but it’s obscure. I kinda prefer it that way as it’s like a coded message!
Thank you for sharing your travel experience,
Dora 🎀

Before getting married, my husband and I dated for seven or eight years. We had traveled together, but always within the U.S. For our honeymoon we wanted something extra special so we decided to take our first international trip together as husband and wife to Italy! We made so many great memories. I was able to pick up the Pandora gondola and colosseum charms to capture our time. I only wish I had gotten the ice cream cone, too! (IG: nathaliesdesk)

Hi Dora,
One of our best travel memories was going to Australia for our 20th anniversary. I got to cuddle a koala like a baby and see kangaroos in the wild with joeys in their mamas pouches! The coolest Pandora moment was buying the Sydney Opera House charm at the Sydney Opera House! But what an awesome trip with so many nver to forget memories! Thank you for hosting the give away!

My latest trip was in Destin for my niece’s wedding. She got married on the beach and it was gorgeous. As they came down the aisle, it was overcast and we were starting to worry that it was going to rain. But right after they said their vows, the sun started to shine and a rainbow appeared in the sky! It was really sweet. And of course, I had to get her a Destin exclusive to help her commemorate her special day. A beautiful blue Murano(like the ocean) with Destin etched on it.

Dora

Hi Paulette,
Wow such a sweet experience and the Destin Murano was the perfect gift too! Did you get a photo of the rainbow above them as they said their vows?
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story with us,

I remember my first time in London. I travelled 6,672 miles alone (my first time) with the excitement of finally seeing Big Ben. When I arrived, Big Ben happened to be under renovation so I decided to go around Central London to see its majestic beauty first hand. With a roaming number on one hand and courage (called oyster) on the other, I took the underground to reach my destinations. One day, my data roaming failed (therefore no GPS) hence I walked around til I saw the train sign. I apparently rode the wrong train to a location I don’t… Read more »

Hi Therese,
Traveling alone can be very worrying but often it’s a great opportunity to learn more about yourself and push boundaries. It sounds as if you had a great time in London and I hope you have the chance to visit again. It’s my favourite city but I’m a bit biased!
Thank you for sharing your special moment with us and enjoy your day,

My best travel memory it the first time i visited NYC with my boyfriend who is now my husband, we had a schedule everyday, we visited many places, but the day that i remembered the most of that trips, is the second time we went to times square to meet a friend, we were walking to the red stairs, he asked me: do you see our friend anywhere?? I was like there is too much ppl around but when i stare at crowd i saw our friend with a big orange banner with the writing on it: vicky, will you… Read more »

Hi Victoria,
Thank you for sharing such an amazing story! That must have been such a surprise! Your husband did so well to organise it and keep it a secret. Did the crowd clap when you said yes?
Thank you for sharing your wonderful memory with us!
